Steering committee
The Steering Committee ensure that the theme and scientific objectives of DevRes 2022 are achieved. The members originate from a variety of departments across both universities, with stakeholders also involved from key partner organizations. The GlobeLife initiative established by Andreas Mårtensson and Cecilia Stålsby Lundborg has been the guide and launching point for the planning of this conference.
Meena Daivadanam, Uppsala University (Chair) Associate Professor at the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health. Her research is focused on intervention and implementation research, particularly community-based complex interventions for non-communicable diseases. |

Anders Gustafsson, Karolinska Institutet Vice President of Karolinska Institutet and is a Professor of Periodontology at the Department of Dental Medicine and Dean of Research. His research is focused on the pathogenesis of periodontitis and the association between periodontitis and systemic diseases, such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. |

Christel Bergström, Uppsala University Professor at the Department of Pharmacy. Her research is focused on the knowledge of physiological pathways to improve the delivery of pharmacologically active compounds to the site of action. |

Claudia Merli, Uppsala University Associate Professor at the Department of Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology. Her research is focused primarily in medical anthropology and in the critical anthropological study of disasters. |

Dan Wilhelmsson, the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet) Coordinator for Development Research at the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet). He has a research background coastal zone management in developing countries, as well as in the environmental impacts of offshore renewable energy. |

Jonas Bergquist, Uppsala University Professor of analytical chemistry and neurochemistry at the Department of Chemistry-Biomedical Centre. His research is focused on understanding what happens in patients suffering from various neurodegenerative diseases, currently with a strong focus on Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME/CFS). |
Johan Bryggare, Formas Web manager within the Department for Communication at Formas. He has vast experience in web, internet and digital communications and marketing with a focus on creating content, strategies and digital development. |

Stefan Swartling Peterson, Karolinska Institutet Professor of Global Transformation for Health at the Department of Global Public Health. His research is focused on addressing the optimal heath and development of children now and in the future, by addressing the social, commercial and political determinants of health. |

Vilhelm Müller, Sida Research Advisor within health and digital technologies at Sida. He holds a PhD from Chalmers University of Technology were his research focused on developing point of care diagnostic tools for use in low income settings. |

Jesper Sundewall, Swedish Development Research NetworkSweDev (Adjunct member) University and Associate Professor of health economics at University of KwaZulu-Natal and member of the SweDev Steering Committee. His research is focused on universal health coverage, health systems and health financing focusing on particular on low- and middle-income countries. |

Rhoda Wanyenze, CESH Makerere University (Adjunct member) Professor and Dean of Makerere University School of Public Health. Her research is focused on infectious diseases especially HIV and TB, with several studies in maternal and child health. |

Andreas Mårtensson, Uppsala University (Adjunct member) Professor at the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health and head of the research group International Child Health and Nutrition. His research is focused on child health and infectious diseases, primarily that of malaria. |

Cecilia Stålsby Lundborg, Karolinska Institutet (Adjunct member) Professor and the research group leader for Health Systems and Policy at the Department of Global Public Health. Her research is focused on antibiotic resistance, looking at infection prevention and appropriate use of antibiotics. |
